Businesses are responsible for conducting planned maintenance of their capital assets in a timely manner while securing the funds to pay for it. Repairing, replacing and upgrading infrastructure is an ongoing task that could seem overwhelming. However, effective asset management can help a business to maximize the value of its capital along with its operation and maintenance (O&M) dollars.
SUEZ provides turn-key solutions that keep all critical water assets in good operating condition and fully compliant with all applicable regulations, while minimizing maintenance and renovation costs. Combining the expertise of our staff, the latest smart utility applications and 150 years of proven O&M processes, procedures, lessons learned and risk mitigation strategies, we’ve designed integrated tools that allow businesses to reach maximum performance using revolutionary 21st century technology.
RapidSMART implements compliance logging and reporting and tracks performance against expectations to manage limits and mitigate operational risks. This proprietary system uses integrated smart tools that allow us to monitor current operations, perform upgrades as needed and develop plans for future operations. To ensure a solid investment strategy, we determine the anticipated life of assets using analysis of each asset’s criticality, condition, consequence of failure and maintenance history.
In addition, we can assess the quality of drinking water against state requirements and design standards. If the assessment determines that the system is not adequate for the current or near-term needs of the business, we will determine the changes necessary to bring the system to an optimized level of operations in compliance with health and environmental standards.
SUEZ’ New York Operations have been playing an important role in the development of Rockland and Orange counties for more than 115 years. Now supplying more than 300,000 people with 28.6 million gallons of water each day, we continue to invest in the capital infrastructure and services so vital to that growth.
Meeting that demand is no small feat. The water is drawn from more than 60 sources, treated, and then distributed through 1,000 miles of water mains to reach our customers in the service area. Both groundwater and surface water is treated in either our Lake DeForest Water Treatment Plant or our Letchworth Water Treatment Plant to meet strict drinking water standards. Raw water is treated in Lake DeForest with chemicals to aid in clarification and protection against microbiological contamination. The process includes traveling screens, aeration and filtration.
SUEZ’ work has earned us the 2015 New York Section AWWA Safety Award and the 2014 NAWC Annual Management Innovation Award. We look forward to continuing to grow with Rockland and Orange counties.
