Martin Falkenberg, a 25-year veteran in the international water sector, joined SUEZ North America as Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Environment, Health, Security and Safety. He reports to Eric Gernath, CEO, of the water and waste subsidiary of Paris SUEZ (Paris Exchange: SVE).
Falkenberg has significant leadership experience in human resources and operations. He comes to SUEZ from Groupe SEB, a French company specializing in small domestic equipment, where he was Vice President of Human Resources in North America. Prior to that, Falkenberg worked in a variety of sales, business development and human resources positions for Nestle Waters, both internationally and in North America.
At SEB and Nestle Waters, he lead significant transformations which included integrating acquired companies, improving profitability and operational efficiencies, and creating more collaborative work environments.
Falkenberg joined SEB in 2012 as Vice President of Human Resources, in which he enjoyed great success in improving engagement by building a more collaborative work environment and focusing on employee development and advancement of top talent. Prior to this, he spent 18 years in senior roles at Nestle Waters, where he began as Area Manager of Human Resources. In 2000, he served as Director of New Business for Perrier Vittel Brazil, which was acquired by Nestle Waters.
Falkenberg earned his Bachelor’s degree in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, his Master’s degree in labor relations from Cornell University and a Certificate of senior human resources leadership from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.
